As an Administrator for the Business Support Team, you will provide detailed and accurate administration support to ensure that records and reports are up to date, helping the wider Children, Adults and Health department to provide support to those in the community who may need it. You will be part of a small, experienced team, who are friendly and welcoming and training, and support will be given.
The team are currently hybrid working, mixture of working remotely at home and working in the office. Currently this is spending half a week at home and the other half at our Westgate Centre, offices in Yate, this is subject to change.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as main point of contact for Social Care, providing administrative support to managers and ensuring work carried out is efficient and procedures are effectively implemented.
* Deal with enquiries and information requests, interacting with customers, colleagues and partners to maintain strong working relationships.
* Collate, maintain records and analyse information to ensure accurate statements are produced and data is retrieved from computerised systems and interpreted.
* Research information within Social Care and collate evidence for presentation in reports, including drafting sections of documents for use by others.
* Escalate specific concerns, queries and issues and ensure they are accurately and promptly relayed when necessary.
* Accurately record and assist in the monitoring and maintaining of budgets/financial information/resources.
Minimum Requirements
* Hold an NVQ 2 or 3 GCSE’s grades C (grade 4 or above) or have equivalent qualification or relevant experience in office administration.
* Ability to take and type accurate minutes of meetings, with skill to format documents to a high standard.
* Effective communication skills to engage with customers, professionals and partnership agencies using various media (email, phone, face to face).
* Great IT skills and practical application, including experience of using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and maintaining computerised record systems.
* Experience in using databases, including running standard reports, analysing data and presenting findings, along with experience of basic financial procedures (petty cash, invoicing).
* Although not essential, experience of dealing with challenging calls from and to young people regarding life skills and life experiences is a plus.
What You Need to Know
* This is for a limited term contract, due to end 2nd December 2025.
* This is a part-time role, working 29.6 hours per week. Your salary will be pro-rated to hours worked.
