This position is a permanent opportunity As an Independent Living Officer, you will be expected to: Be responsible for managing the Independent Living Service in a designated area by delivering intensive housing management, which encompasses the five key outcomes identified on the housing action plan. To be successful in an Independent Living Officer role, the skills you will need : Educated to GCSE standard of equivalent Educated to CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice or willingness to study this qualification. Previous experience of working with, and thorough understanding of dealing with vulnerable group. Understanding of issues faced in a social housing environment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and to manage own workload without direct supervision. Ability to work in and adapt to a changing environment. Ability to prioritise own workload in order to meet deadlines. Good standard of ICT literacy and the confidence to use Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel on a daily basis. Knowledge and understanding of the role of social housing. Commitment to customer care. Willingness to seek responsibility. Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email. Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential: Experience of liaising with social, medical and care agencies. Previous experience of housing management.
