Role Overview
As a B2B Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of LightSpeed business-to-business sales function. You will be responsible for managing and optimising lead conversion efforts, coaching a high-performing sales team, and ensuring the seamless execution of our sales strategy to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
This role demands a commercially driven leader with a deep understanding of B2B sales cycles, strong people management skills, and the ability to foster high-impact relationships with partners, customers, and internal stakeholders.
What we need you to do
* Develop and lead an effective pre-sales (outbound telesales) function, ensuring it is strategically aligned to business growth objectives. This includes a dual remit: directly selling to prospects and generating decision maker appointments for the Field Sales team.
* Own the end-to-end conversion of inbound leads, including those generated via telesales and business website enquiry forms, driving high-quality pipeline generation and qualification.
* Partner with the marketing team to drive effective campaigns and content to drive inbound leads.
* Drive sales performance and productivity, directly selling where required to maximise performance and mentor by example.
* Recruit, onboard, develop and continuously coach a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of exceeding performance goals against defined revenue and conversion targets.
* Implement structured training and performance management frameworks to enhance sales effectiveness and productivity.
* Provide robust sales forecasts and implement action plans to address performance gaps.
* Work closely with the B2B Director to execute the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and adapt tactics based on market insights.
* Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
* Oversee the end-to-end B2B customer journey, from prospecting and lead nurturing to contract execution and lead-to-cash.
* Play a key role alongside the B2B Director in developing relationships with any lead affiliate partners we onboard, ensuring timely feedback on lead quality and driving strong return on investment.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, exploiting opportunities to drive cross-sell and upsell efforts.
* Be flexible to support different sales campaigns and teams as required.
* Be the face of Lightspeed within the local communities we serve.
What we need from you
* A demonstrable track record of leading successful teams against stretchy targets within the B2B telecommunications sector.
* A hands-on, high-energy approach, with a strong record of converting B2B sales opportunities into revenue.
* Ability to build, inspire, and develop a results-driven business development and sales team.
* Strong negotiation skills, with a data-driven and strategic mindset for optimising sales performance.
* Comfortable working in a scale-up environment, with the ability to be hands-on and flexible in supporting the setup and scalability of a new business unit.
* High levels of computer literacy, alongside strong quantitative and analytical skills to track sales performance, assess market opportunities, and optimise lead generation.
* Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong collaboration and networking skills, embracing a "one-team" mindset to drive cross-functional success.
* A deep understanding of the B2B customer base, including market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs.
