Team Overview
As part of the AECOM Advisory Services business unit, our Strategic Procurement team understand the critical importance of a thoroughly developed and market tested procurement strategy, which is a cornerstone for project success, and will ensure the appointment of the right supply chain partners into a commercial relationship based upon aligned objectives.
Aligned with the Advisory Services vision, as a team we aim to be recognised both internally and externally as a leading provider of strategic and technical procurement advisory services in the UK&I, establishing enduring relationships with our clients, and becoming trusted advisors known for excellence and innovation.

Here's what you'll do:
* Provide high-quality procurement advice and support to AECOM's infrastructure clients on their flagship projects.
* Lead and/or support in sector leading projects and programmes, as the strategic procurement subject matter expert.

* Collaborate with AECOM colleagues to deliver quality outcomes for our clients, providing high value multi-discipline solutions.

Key responsibilities of the role:
* Provide procurement advice including understanding client drivers and project success factors, to then lead them through the process of designing the optimum delivery model, contract strategy, commercial model and route to market for their project.
* Manage the competitive procurement process including market engagement, supplier shortlisting, tender document development, tender management, evaluation, and negotiation.
* Provide advice on commercial aspects, category management and performance management.
* Support work winning activity including contributing to proposal documentation.
* Support the development of AECOM's overall strategic procurement service offering.

Here's what we're looking for:
* Significant post-qualification knowledge and experience (7+ years) leading the procurement of complex construction and infrastructure projects.
* Experience managing the procurement lifecycle from sourcing through to contract management and supplier engagement.
* Proven project/programme management experience including ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Awareness of a range of standard form contracts including NEC.
* Possess strong people skills and be an effective communicator, able to influence, challenge and establish yourself as a trusted advisor.
* Experience in category management and contract management, including advising on Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.
* Awareness of procuring under the Public Contract Regulations or equivalent.
