Cranleigh STEM is working with a well-established, family-run business specialising in the supply of high-quality flavour and fragrance ingredients. We are looking for an Analytical Technician to join their laboratory team in Poole.

The Role
This role involves managing day-to-day technical queries from customers and conducting routine analysis of essential raw materials, oils and other chemicals.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and committed individual to support the development and expansion of the company’s product range as they enter new markets.
Previous experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, prior knowledge of Quality Control (QC) processes would be advantageous.
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £24,000 - £25,000
Benefits: 21 days holiday + bank holidays, performance-based bonus, pension, future development opportunities
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (4:00 PM finish on Fridays)
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct QC testing of incoming raw materials, outgoing finished products, and other samples.
Use and be trained on analytical instruments including GC, GC-MS, and GC-FID.
Generate and distribute certificates of analysis for all dispatched orders.
Coordinate external product testing and interpret results.
Prepare and send product samples to customers with appropriate documentation.
Assist the Purchasing department with QC-related queries.
Maintain the laboratory environment, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
Develop an understanding of regulatory compliance for all products across various markets.
Participate in technical projects, feasibility studies, and R&D initiatives.
Key Requirements:
Experience in Quality Control is preferred but not essential.
Degree-level qualification in chemistry or a closely related subject
Previous knowledge of GC, GC-MS, and GC-FID would be highly advantageous.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Enthusiastic, responsible, and eager to learn new skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
