Project Manager - Mass Payments
Location: High Wycombe Office
Background
Ebury Mass Payments (EMP) is a non-banking financial institution which provides cross border payments and foreign exchange services. It is a major supplier of payment services for international payroll, usually through aggregator clients like payroll providers, who bring their underlying corporate clients to EMP.
It has enjoyed substantial growth over recent years and is now entering a new phase of business development to address larger customers in its current business markets and to open new sectors that have aggregator style customers.
To support this objective, EMP will need a new technology solution that can:
1. Provide the key features necessary to open new business vertical markets and address larger organisations in its current verticals.
2. Allow EMP to increase business volumes by an order of magnitude with a similar size of operations team.
3. Sustain the highest levels of customer service for maximum retention.
Ebury Mass Payments - Implementation
Having completed an RFP and a Proof of Concept with our preferred supplier, EMP has embarked upon the implementation of a future business processing model, covering the core Trading, Cash Management, Payments and Reconciliation processes, along with integrations with other key services like Commercial, Compliance, Accounts and Data.
During the implementation project, as well as in the longer term, EMP will need to ensure that the platform capabilities conform to both functional and non-functional requirements. There will be a need to work closely with the platform provider to ensure the final version implemented in production is fit for purpose prior to go-live.
Operations
Once in full production operation, the EMP team will continue to manage the products and services that have been implemented to gain commercial and competitive advantage and open new markets and operational locations.
Project Manager Position
Ebury Mass Payments (EMP) is implementing new systems support for its growing business of International Mass Payments. EMP is partnering with an external vendor, Geniusto, to achieve business growth targets to increase turnover by an order of magnitude without significant growth in operational team size.
Geniusto is providing EMP with a licensed product that we are customising to suit our needs. The product development and SIT will be done by Geniusto, but the requirements, release scoping and UAT testing are EMP's responsibility.
Completing the project on time and delivering value to customers and to EMP is at the heart of this initiative, and to this extent we are looking for a project manager to help keep all efforts together, track progress and foster collaboration.
Job Profile
This is preferably a permanent position, although it could also be a contract role for a short term if required.
The candidate will work closely with the Geniusto counterpart PM on all aspects of project delivery that involve Geniusto and will collaborate with her on a day-to-day basis as needed. The candidate will be responsible for creating overall project plans based on scope of requirements, Geniusto’s delivery timelines and testing timelines, and most importantly tracking progress against this plan for senior stakeholder reporting.
At a more granular level, the candidate will need to track release numbers and contents of every release, follow up on defect and functional deliveries that were promised by the vendor, track defect statuses and make sure all relevant artefacts are updated.
The candidate would be expected to track invoices and expenses against existing contracts, and manage CRs / modifications to those contracts. To round it off, the candidate will also be responsible for creating go-live plans with detailed activity workbooks and coordinate amongst stakeholders for executing those plans.
Candidate Experience
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic project manager who has recent experience working at a bank and/or a fintech company to manage payment projects. Ideally, he/she must have experience of this role at the client side and working with vendors. The individual must be dynamic with good communication and demonstrable organisational skills. We need someone who is not afraid of dealing with some chaos or uncertainty, and who is keen to bring some order and discipline to a project that will grow very fast and is already on the radar of the C-Suite. This is a great opportunity for the candidate to make a positive difference and use his/her skills to help deliver a lot of value to the company.
