Job Advert: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant – Primary Mainstream Setting, Poole Area Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a mainstream primary school? We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team in a primary mainstream setting in the Poole area. We offer both full-time and part-time positions to suit your schedule. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum in a mainstream primary school environment. Assist in the creation and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies. Work closely with teachers to ensure students receive a positive and inclusive learning experience. Support students with both academic tasks and personal development in the classroom. Assist with behavior management and promote positive social interactions among students. Provide additional support in both one-on-one and small group settings. Foster an environment where students feel supported, valued, and included. The Ideal Candidate: A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a mainstream setting. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, though not essential – a willingness to learn and develop is key. Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with children. A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive, flexible approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
