Our client, a well-respected insurance broker based in Colchester, is looking for an experienced Marine Claims Executive to join their expanding team. Your role will be to provide an efficient, high quality, reliable Claims Service to Clients, Directors, Account Executives, and Account Handlers while managing a caseload of claims in accordance with company requirements and procedures.
Role / Duties:
1. Proactively manage a mixed caseload of claims including recovery of client’s uninsured losses.
2. Dynamic case management - routinely prioritise and action outstanding cases, being proactive at all times and not allowing claims to 'drift’.
3. Regularly update both clients and insurers in accordance with the agreed claims process.
4. Provide sensible and considered advice to clients regarding all they can claim for, the route their claim should follow, and the likely timescales, whilst at times realistically managing their expectations.
5. Ensure that Judgments in default are not obtained against clients.
6. Attend regular team meetings and contribute where appropriate.
7. Undertake client visits and aid the development of the relationship.
8. Maintain claims related excel spreadsheets.
9. Provide claims information to the business to assist with policy renewals/client development.
10. Comply with any reasonable requests.

IT Key Skills:
1. Knowledge of Acturis computer system.
2. Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
The Person:
1. Must have Marine Insurance experience.
2. Knowledge of insurance principles and underlying legal principles.
3. An understanding of FCA regulations and guidelines.
4. Knowledge of insurance broking claims function.
5. A developed understanding of Marine claims.
6. A good working knowledge of the UK litigation process including proactive handling of County Court Claim Forms.
