HR Consultant Role – Engineering & Construction industry My client is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Consultant to lead, support, and enhance their organisational development initiatives. This role includes managing a small HR team, ensuring compliance with legal and strategic goals, and partnering with senior management to shape the organisation's HR strategies. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of HR compliance, strong leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for fostering a collaborative and engaging workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Stay up to date with compliance regulations related to HR and ensure organisational adherence. Incorporate Health & Safety (H&S) legislation into business operations, ensuring its effective implementation. Invest in the professional development of staff through mentoring, performance management, and career planning. Develop, recognise, recruit, and nurture diverse talent across the organisation. Foster a positive and healthy team environment by resolving conflicts effectively and encouraging collaboration. Provide leadership by offering direction and feedback to team members and collaborating with department leaders. Promote sustainable and ethical work practices within the organisation. Collaborate on and lead projects, ensuring they are delivered within defined budgets and timelines. Build and maintain project schedules, monitor deliverables, and recalibrate plans as necessary to meet deadlines and budgets. Establish professional networks with external organisations and maintain key relationships within the business to act as a trusted partner for leadership and staff. HR Expertise Provide consultation on HR practices, including employee engagement, compensation, talent acquisition, performance management, and workforce planning. Maintain a fair and competitive compensation strategy, aligned with organisational goals. Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and guide resolution processes. Lead the administration of employee benefits and oversee annual reviews. Collaborate with compliance teams to proactively address vulnerabilities and audit requirements. Provide oversight for domestic visa management and liaise with immigration service providers. Deliver strategic advice on performance management, leadership effectiveness, and organisational development. Lead workplace wellbeing initiatives and promote mental health support within the organisation. Qualifications & Skills Master’s degree in Human Resources Management (or equivalent) or CIPD Level 7 (Essential). FCIPD/MCIPD (Desirable). 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role (Essential). Experience with Cezanne HR or similar people management software (Desirable). Prior experience in an engineering environment (Desirable). Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices (Essential). Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel (Essential). Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of staff. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in all HR-related matters. Demonstrated ability to solve problems proactively and implement innovative solutions.
