Purpose of the Job
This is a key role within a small finance team, reporting to the Group Finance Director, and providing monthly and weekly key information on the financial status of the company with a high focus on group reporting to better understand commercial sales.
The role is primarily responsible for the preparation of UK and US management accounts, group consolidation, and bi-weekly cashflow as well as monthly UK payroll and VAT reporting.
Responsibilities
* Preparing the monthly UK and US management accounts and associated balance sheet reconciliations.
* Maintaining revenue recognition and revenue deferral schedules, working with the FP&A Accountant to ensure these align with program reports and forecasts.
* Producing the monthly group consolidation including currency revaluations and Interco eliminations and preparing the group reporting pack.
* Working with the Brazilian accounts team to incorporate data and analysis of commercial sales, COGS, and inventory accounting into group reporting.
* Preparing a bi-weekly consolidated cashflow, liaising with program managers and other stakeholders to produce a delta analysis.
* Liaising with the People Team and external payroll provider to process the monthly payroll uploads and reconciliation of resulting payroll registers.
* Preparing quarterly VAT returns.
* Liaising with third party Finance system provider to ensure the ERP system is kept up to date to reflect both internal and external changes.
* Maintaining user accounts in the accounting and purchasing systems.
* Maintaining the company expense system, Concur.
* Assisting Group Finance Director with annual audit and tax requirements and with preparation of UK and group financial statements.
* Supporting the Group Finance Director with ad hoc requests.
Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements
* Qualified CIMA/ACCA.
* Previous management accounts experience including working through detailed data to produce summary information for presentation.
* Previous experience of preparing group consolidations.
* Experience of working in a global business, preferably with experience of both project accounting and commercial sales.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or Navision preferable.
* Excellent knowledge of Office 365 and a pro-active approach to IT systems.
* A track record of working in a small team that is embedded in its business.
* Understands what 'good' management and performance reporting looks like and is an accomplished user of BI tools to drive efficiency and meaningfulness of management reporting.
* Must be diligent and well-organised, curious, and keen to ask questions.

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum + Hybrid working
