Catering Assistant
15 hours per week
Shift pattern will vary slightly depending on which kitchen you be working at but will be approximately 10.30am - 1.30pm Monday-Friday, term time only .
The job involves serving pupils and teachers their school dinner at lunchtime, some simple food preparation eg making sandwiches / salad (but not cooking ), washing up, cleaning the kitchen and helping to move dining furniture and get dining hall set up before service. Uniform will be provided.
No re-imbursement for travel expenses but we will keep the employee within the general vicinity of where they live.
Must have Enhanced DBS with Child Barring list check.
To assist in the preparation of all food and beverages as and when required, as directed by the Catering Supervisor, whilst ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Influence and encourage customers in a positive way, in order to maximise meal uptake and healthy eating.
Ensure that decisions are based on existing Health and Safety, Food Hygiene legislation.
Ensure good levels of customer care and to help build a positive working relationship with the school’s Headteacher and other school staff.
Assist the Catering Supervisor to establish customer requirements.
Report any faults or defects in relation to premises/plant, in order to maintain safety standards.
