This is an opportunity for a suitably experienced Data Coordinator to join the Children's Major Trauma Service within Royal Manchester Children's Hospital on a part-time, fixed-term basis for 18 months. Our Data Coordinator is an important member of our small team, performing a vital role in ensuring the Service meets its obligation to submit accurate, high-quality data to the National Major Trauma Registry in a timely manner. The successful candidate will also provide ad-hoc admin support to our team and our Clinical Lead.
The primary purpose of this post is to be responsible for identifying and capturing patients and information required for national reporting in line with predefined requirements and set timescales. The post holder will ensure timely, detailed, high quality and accurate data is captured for all patients experiencing major trauma. The post holder will be required to work closely with the MTC team and clinicians to share and investigate patient episodes where appropriate.
We have data sharing agreements with our pre-hospital partners who value our updates to their systems to support their improved patient service. This role will include supporting our partnership with North West Air Ambulance and their Patient After Care Service.
Our team will also benefit from some ad-hoc administrative support as will our Clinical Lead with support for an educational programme for health care professionals.
Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) is a Children's Standalone Major Trauma Centre (MTC). It is part of the Greater Manchester Major Trauma Network and the North West Children's Major Trauma ODN. Together with Alder Hey Children's Hospital, the two regional MTCs accept paediatric major trauma patients from across the north-west of England and north Wales. MFT is one of the largest NHS Trusts in England with a turnover of £2.6bn and is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts.
We've also created a digitally enabled organisation to improve clinical quality, patient and staff experience, operational effectiveness, and driving research and innovation through the introduction of Hive; our Electronic Patient Record system which launched in September 2022.
We're proud to be a major academic Research Centre and Education provider, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. What's more, we're excited to be embarking on our Green Plan which sets out how MFT continues to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable.
At MFT, we create and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, provide equal opportunities for career development that are fair, open, and transparent, protecting your health and wellbeing and shaping the future of our organisation together.
