About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Planning Consultant or someone working towards RTPI qualification to join our growing planning team based in Birmingham. The team primarily works within the Midlands but offers opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from across the UK, including offices in Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle. Due to the significant growth in this area, we are looking for a dedicated professional to join us and work closely with Partners, clients, and senior colleagues.
As a Planning Consultant, you will provide commercial planning advice to clients within the private and public sectors. You will play a key role in driving revenue and achieving business objectives, while also contributing to team success through billings and profit targets.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide planning advice across various sectors including residential, public sector, education, commercial/industrial, and retail/leisure.
2. Support the team's business plan by helping to develop client portfolios and drive revenue growth.
3. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring that all advice is accurate and delivered within agreed deadlines.
4. Work on managing smaller planning instructions independently, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
5. Seek new business opportunities and collaborate with the wider team to identify cross-selling prospects.
6. Develop both internal and external networks to support business development efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Experience: Experience with demonstrable technical competence, ideally in the sectors relevant to the role.
2. Skills: Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
3. Knowledge: Familiarity with the Midlands market and local planning context.
4. Industry Insight: A solid understanding of the wider real estate industry.
5. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in business and report writing.
Qualifications:
1. Degree-level qualification in planning or a related field.
2. MRTPI Qualified (or nearing completion of the qualification).
3. Ideally 1+ years of post-MRTPI experience.
