JOBTITLE: INSTALLATIONENGINEER
REPORTINGTO: OPERATIONS MANAGER
ROLE:
TheInstallation Engineer (IE) will be part of a team which as a groupwill perform the duties to install Security Systems atcustomer s premises. Generally this role is to install any ordersthat the company may receive and requires a great deal ofinitiative and autonomy. Flexibility is essential in adapting tofuture changes within the company and fluctuations within theworkload.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
These dutieswill be based upon all or part of thefollowing:
TheInstallation Engineer (IE) will be allocated projects by theProject Manager(PM)
They will thenbe responsible together for the planning scheduling installationand handover ofprojects
Onreceipt of a site file the IE with the PM will review the projectto ensure that they are conversant with any particular contractconditions; they will also ensure that the equipment specifiedconstitutes a working and suitable system in liaison with theSalesman and the customer and where necessary resolve any queriesat thisstage
Anypredetermined program of works and delivery schedule will be notedand actioned; any changes will proactively be notified to thecustomer and theSalesperson
Should there beno previous agreement then the customer shall be informed as soonas possible of the arrangedprogram
TheIE shall highlight any issues they feel may affect theprofitability of any projects they are workingon
Anyconcerns should be highlighted to thePM
TheIE will monitor the progress of their work at all times and willadvise the PM of any changes through regular ProjectReviews
TheIE will complete the relevant commissioning and completioncertificates with the assistance of a Senior Engineer ifrequired
Where the IEexperiences difficulty in fulfilling their duties or finds theprogram of works not on schedule particularly where LiquidatedDamages may be incurred the PM will be advisedimmediately
ThePM will ensure that all applicable documentation is provided in asuitable format at the time of handover to thecustomer
TheIE will ensure that the client or end user training on the use oftheir system is arranged; this could entail providing basictraining or arranging training with anotherdepartment
TheIE will liaise with the Service Department to handover eachinstallation and make them aware of important information andfeatures of thesystem
TheIE will feedback any relevant information to ensure problemsencountered are dealt with so as not to reoccur and areas whereinstallations have gone particularly well are alsohighlighted
TheIE may at any time have a Junior Engineer under theirresponsibility
TheIE will be expected to monitor and assist those other Engineers inthe progression of theirroles
TheIE is to be responsible for informing the PM of any occurrenceswhereby the Junior Engineers are performing exceptionally well oralternatively where improvements can bemade
Specific noticeshould be taken of theirtimekeeping
ExpensesSheets: These must be completed daily and submitted bythe 20th of each month to the Projects Administrator. Valid VATreceipts must support claims whereapplicable.
VehicleMaintenance: Maintain the vehicle provided in accordancewith the Vehicle Operating Rules. Keep the vehicle clean insideandout.
MobileTelephone: Maintain the telephone in full working orderhaving any necessary repairs carried out as quickly as possible inconjunction with the PA. Keep the telephone charged and ready forany workingperiod.
Dressin a professional manner as fitting to the task being performed andas the representative of the company. Carry identification at alltimes.
