A supportive NFP organisation is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sole Payroller to take full ownership of our in-house payroll function, processing monthly payroll for approximately 250 employees using Sage 50 Payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process end-to-end monthly payroll for 250 employees accurately and on time
2. Maintain and update employee records including starters, leavers, and changes
3. Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP) and deductions
4. Ensure compliance with current HMRC legislation and RTI submissions
5. Process pension contributions and liaise with pension providers
6. Generate payslips, P45s, and year-end reports including P60s
7. Respond to employee payroll queries and provide timely resolutions
8. Liaise with finance team for payroll journal entries and reconciliations
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in end to end payroll processing, ideally in a similar-sized organisation
2. Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
3. High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
4. Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
Desirable:
1. Experience with pension auto-enrolment and benefits administration
2. Proven experience in a sole payroll position, ideally in a similar-sized organisation
3. Proficient in Sage 50 Payroll
4. Payroll qualifications (e.g., CIPP) would be advantageous
