The Western General Hospital (WGH) is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering the best practice across a wide variety of specialist services. It is also home to the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, which is a leading centre for cancer services provision. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Pharmacy Support Worker (PSW) to join our well established pharmacy team to support in the delivery of excellent hospital pharmacy aseptic services. Our team is made out of pharmacy technicians, trainee pharmacy technicians and PSWs. We are a friendly team who maintains safe provision of medicines to the WGH site. PSWs are key members to the service delivery. We welcome individuals who are diligent, reliable and flexible. We will provide education and training during which you will learn about clean room environment and the many different procedures that we have to maintain the high standards of cleanliness and undertake support roles to fulfil the functions of an aseptic unit. This post holder will need to have national 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics. They will be supported to complete an SCQF Level 6 unit as part of their development. Prior experiences within pharmacy services or stock management are beneficial but not essential. The Pharmacy Department at WGH is a dynamic and diverse department who values the workforce and joy in work.
