Position
An opportunity has arisen for an Allied Health Professional (AHP) Health Care Support Worker Band 4 based at Combined Assessment Unit and Emergency Department at University Hospital Crosshouse
What you will do:
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, relevant qualifications and experience of working in a care setting or with healthcare, community or voluntary sector. We will provide training and support to undertake the role. The post holder should be passionate about empowering their patients to achieve their goals.
This new post will collaborate with experienced clinicians and health care professionals to have a meaningful impact on care. The post will support discharge, continue treatment plans of patients and initiate treatments within specified parameters and contribute to training. You will also be involved in the ordering, stock management and internal administrative processes which contribute to the work of the AHP Front door team. Once you have had the relevant support and training you will have responsibility for the day to day management of your own caseload. By operating a partly shared team caseload we are able to offer excellent opportunities for practice supervision and shadowing in a wide range of clinical areas.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
The AHP team includes Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapist. You would work with each profession.
You should possess a formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
Experience and confidence using electronic systems eg Micrososft Word. Evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post is essential excellent time management, great interpersonal/communication skills, organisational skills, self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team.

Hours: 37 hours per week
