Reed HR are working with a local authority based in East Sussex who are seeking an experienced Pensions Manager to join their HR team. This independent position within Pensions & HR involves managing one team member who will assist you. The successful candidate will efficiently, effectively, and proactively manage pension arrangements in line with current legislation and oversee pension audits.
Contract: 2 year fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure and maintain a strong understanding of all pension matters within the organisation for both Support Staff and Operational Staff.
2. Ensure that all pension statutory regulations are correctly applied and employees are updated with changes.
3. Research, prepare and present reports to the Senior Leadership Team.
4. Oversee case work relating to specific individual issues, ensuring issues are addressed in a timely manner through to resolution. Undertake complex or sensitive case work as appropriate.
5. Undertake and manage pension projects, produce recommendations after the research and risk assessment of options. This may include the line management of resources for Projects.
6. To manage auto enrolment arrangements for all Pension Schemes ensuring compliance with legislation.
7. Understand the pension implications of change and ensure a close and effective working relationship with team and administrators to ensure efficiency of operation.
8. Ensure a good customer service to scheme members and employees and provide guidance to employees on organisations pension schemes through regular and timely communications via intranet communications and face to face communication.
Person Specification:
1. Experience of pension administration or managing the employer role on behalf of an organisation.
2. Experience of managing changing priorities and situations.
3. Experience of planning the use of resources.
4. Experience of working across all levels within an organisation and tailoring responses to meet recipient needs.
5. Experience of dealing with financial accountability and procurement systems within a public sector environment.
