Job title: Team Leader -Senior Flight Systems Engineer

Salary: £54,793 dependant on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Overseeing the production of Flight Systems engineering data to meet project requirements in line with agreed standards and procedures, whilst maintaining quality, cost and schedule adherence
* Liaising with other engineering and project areas in a collaborative environment to develop engineering solutions
* Planning, performing and guiding engineering tasks dependent on lifecycle phase which could include requirements development, system and equipment design and development, modelling and analysis, system integration, qualification and certification, and testing
* Reviewing and approving specifications, reports and proposals, ensuring technical accuracy and task requirements have been achieved
* Steering new systems development through implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processes
* Providing leadership, guidance and coaching to other team members, sharing knowledge, expertise and best practice
* Providing overall team leadership and management, including responsibilities for task management and prioritisation, performance management, staff development and support, cost control and technical quality
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Degree or equivalent experience or qualification in relevant STEM subject (Aeronautical / Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Physics/Maths/Science)
* Extensive experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Fluid Systems Engineering, preferably in an aerospace application or in a similar engineering or technology focussed industry
* Ability to effectively research system design data and apply to complex problems
* Crew systems, thermal management / environmental control systems, electrical power generation and distribution, flying controls, propulsion integration, actuation systems including electrical, and systems health management
* Vehicle control system design, and modelling and simulation of both classical and advanced control systems
Desirable:
* A background in developing products within the broader systems engineering lifecycle and exposure to multiple phases of the lifecycle
* Experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver on commitments

Would you like to join our highly skilled and professional engineering team that covers a diverse range of system engineering? We currently have vacancies for Senior Flight Systems Engineer / Team Leaders to be based at one of our UK sites either in the Northwest of England, or East Yorkshire.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to apply your specialist knowledge and technical expertise in the engineering specification, development, clearance and support of Flight Systems. This is a good opportunity to consolidate core systems engineering principles, with exposure to different aspects of the engineering lifecycle and engagement with different interfacing disciplines, suppliers and Customers. There is the opportunity to support numerous projects and platforms in both the air and maritime sectors, covering a diverse range of systems. You will be expected to support the professional development of others, offering guidance and support, and sharing your knowledge, expertise and best practice.
