Highways Site Manager Location: Greater London area (EPN, LPN, and SPN regions) Role Overview As a Highways Site Manager with a leading multi-utilities contractor, you will oversee construction projects across various locations, ensuring that each is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. With a focus on Highways and Utilities, you will manage all on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards. You will be a key player in successfully delivering projects from inception to completion, reporting to the Project Manager or Construction Manager. A proven track record in highways and utilities project delivery is essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Management – Lead construction projects, from planning and scheduling to resource allocation, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and timeline. 2. Health & Safety Compliance – Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring all work adheres to safety regulations and takes proactive measures to protect workers and the public. 3. Subcontractor & Staff Coordination – Oversee site teams, including subcontractors and direct staff, providing training, guidance, and managing relationships with suppliers and clients. 4. Quality Control & Documentation – Monitor work quality, ensuring it meets required standards and regulations, and maintain accurate records of project progress, issues, and updates. Key Skills & Qualifications 1. Industry Experience – Proven experience as a Site Manager in Highways and Utilities, with a successful track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. 2. Certifications – SMSTS or SSSTS, NRSWA Supervisory, and First Aid certification. 3. Project Management Skills – Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office. 4. Health & Safety Knowledge – Solid understanding of construction methods, safety standards, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
