Vulcain Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer (FE) to join our dynamic team. The Field Engineer will form part of the Surveillance Team and report to the Construction Superintendent. They will be responsible for mechanical surveillance of technical and quality activities for customer projects ensuring that any activities are conducted to the relevant surveillance plan.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Observation & Reporting: Monitor mechanical installations including pipework, tanks, steelwork, HVAC, turbines, pumps, and valves.
* Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to specifications and approved processes, undertaking documentation reviews and checks (BTS, BST, ISO9001, GQAS, etc.).
* Surveillance & Verification: Conduct torque control checks, joint integrity assessments, FME (Foreign Material Exclusion) requirements, and punchlist verification.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Report findings to Construction and Quality teams, attend meetings, and challenge contractors where necessary.
* Data Management & Documentation: Record, save, and distribute findings using tools like Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Ideal Candidate:
* Strong knowledge in mechanical engineering processes.
* Familiar with NCRs, ITPs, and other quality processes.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with contractors and project teams.
* Able to work 75% on-site, 25% in office, collaborating across quality, construction, and surveillance teams.
* Team-oriented, proactive, and detail-focused.
Due to the nature of the work, role holders will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS).
