An opportunity has arisen to work within the 0-19 Service in St Helens. You will be joining a proactive skill mixed team working together to deliver the Healthy Child Programme to children and their families in the North locality of St Helens. The team is a skill mix of children's health promotion advisors, school nurses, health visitors, and public health nurses, working closely with neighbouring multi-agency and voluntary organisations to provide accessible, person-centred packages of care in response to individual and local need.
The 0-19 Service in St Helens works to address health inequalities within the local area.
Main Duties of the Job
The 0-19 Service is a dynamic and exciting service, and becoming a Children's Health Promotion Advisor/Nursery Nurse with us will offer you the opportunity to work within the public health and health promotion domains. You should possess excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to working effectively both as part of a team and independently. An in-depth knowledge of the current health agenda relating to children's services and the 0-19 Service is essential.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* NNEB/NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/Public Health
* Brief Intervention/Motivational Interviewing trained
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Health and Social Care Foundation Degree
Experience & Knowledge
* Substantial experience in a health-related post
* Experience of working with children and young people
* Experience of working in the community
* Experience of integrated working and liaising with other agencies
* Awareness of local health priorities
* Experience of delivering/facilitating activities to individuals and groups
* Knowledge of safeguarding issues
* Awareness of public health audits, data collection, and report writing
* Experience of delivering health improvement training and advice to individuals and groups
Skills & Attributes
* Good verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
* Ability to use email, internet, and word processing software
