Working hours: 35 hours / Mon - Friday Home-based but regular travel will be required to our Hubs / Centres for team collaboration. This is open to flexibility around you and the organisation. Direct Reports: 5 Are you ready to join the movement? You will be the lead on managing the Society's biggest income stream, with our Legacy Income Department generating circa £100m for the Society and National Branches. A big part of this role will be overseeing the RSPCA's Legacy Income Management strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and compliance with legal and governance standards. Responsibilities include developing sector-leading practices, fostering collaboration with industry bodies, and maintaining the charity's reputation while optimising legacy income streams. The position requires strategic financial planning, budget oversight, and risk management in complex legal cases, including contentious or high-profile matters, to safeguard the charity's interests and reputation. With 5 direct reports, you will be leading a professional and high-performing team and continue to promote sensitivity in stakeholder interactions, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to grow and protect legacy income. Additionally, you will help manage the Branch Legacy Service, ensuring compliance, timely distributions, and support to branches while fostering awareness and growth of legacy contributions across the organisation. Qualified lawyer i.e. solicitor, fellow of the institute of legal executives or barrister with considerable PQE. Sound and up to date knowledge of the law surrounding probate, tax, Wills and trusts. Proven experience of working at a senior level and as a leader; inspiring and coaching the team. Communicating and engaging with the team to ensure they have clear direction and know what they must achieve to be successful. Demonstrable ability to step back and see the “bigger picture” for the RSPCA. Commercial and strategic thinking. Demonstrates empathy and the ability to provide guidance and gain confidence and understanding A demonstrable understanding of the principles of good regulation and legal compliance. Able to provide strong professional leadership and to motivate, influence and empower others. Proven ability to assess risks including financial and reputational / brand risks Successful candidates for certain RSPCA roles will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
