Transport Supervisor
Location: Hull, HU9 5QE
Shift times: Monday to Friday, 13:30 - 22:00, flexibility is advantageous
Pay Rate: £36,000 per year
Manpower is recruiting for an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a supervisory role in a fast-paced logistics environment with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position after the initial contract period. The focus will be on leadership, relationship-building, and ensuring smooth operations at the Hull site.
What you'll do on a typical day:
1. Overseeing all deliveries from the SCS STARK Hull site, ensuring compliance with company and statutory requirements.
2. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (colleagues, external hauliers, agencies, and customers).
3. Managing transport administration using our systems and submitting reports related to finance, KPIs, claims, and health & safety.
4. Ensuring that resource levels align with operational requirements and customer needs.
5. Coordinating and supporting planning for customer deliveries, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
6. Providing driver briefings and de-briefings, managing driver attendance and issues, and ensuring all drivers are compliant.
7. Promoting health & safety and compliance with company policies and procedures, including HR matters like disciplinary action and absence management.

What you need to succeed with our client:
1. Previous experience in transport or logistics is preferred.
2. Strong organizational and communication skills.
3. Ability to handle operational queries and make decisions independently.
4. Ability to work with multiple teams, including coordination with other SCS sites (Purfleet and Newport), when needed.
