Early Years Officer - fixed term until 06/02/2026

Salary: £32,010 - £37,626
Hours: 36 per week
Pennywell Early Learning and Childcare opened in August 2024. This exciting new centre provides high quality learning experiences for children and families as part of the MacMillan Hub, a community-focused, collaborative location offering a range of services through partnerships with North Edinburgh Arts and the relocated Muirhouse library.
We are recruiting an experienced Early Years Officer on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children to be confident, capable individuals and helping them achieve their full potential. Our officers will monitor the quality and impact of our environments, planning and interactions with children, and will proactively develop and support their teams to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children in our care. They will know their children and team members as individuals and learners, modeling excellent communication skills and effective deployment of team members to meet children's needs. We are looking for an Officer with previous experience of leading 3-school age playrooms who is dedicated to promoting high quality learning outdoors and indoors.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will need to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
