LRL are currently recruiting for a Yard Person for a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Blackpool. Salary: £20,000 - £30,000 per annum Overtime Hours: 40hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 8:00am-17:00pm and Friday 8:00am - 14:30pm. Overtime available. Main Purpose of Job: To carry out duties as necessary in and around the workshop facilities to control the safe movements of plant and machinery, loading and unloading of goods inward and outward and keep control of movements on the yard stock control register. Ensure that the yard is always clean and free from any H&S concerns. Control and dispose of waste produce generated i.e., oil, steel, batteries and contaminated rags in the appropriate containers and carry out monthly checks on the company's interceptor, including cleaning and log/report the findings. Employee shall work in accordance with Company guidelines adhering to and fulfilling the requirements of all network rail standards and complying with Health, Safety and environmental legislation and procedures. Responsibilities Control machine/plant movements, loading/unloading machine yard stock Supervise any machine lifting tasks Control goods in/out paperwork and store away goods appropriately Assist in safe removal/installation of rail wheels as required, despatch and return Control waste/hazardous waste and dispose of appropriately in bins provided and inspect daily Control forklift truck charging station and carry out basic fuel/oil checks, operating forklift trucks as required Carry out general house-keeping duties in and around the Company's premises Carry out basic in-house maintenance as necessary Carry out any necessary collections/deliveries in company vehicle as required Complete daily/weekly/monthly checks of ladders; overhead cranes; fuel and oil checks Carry out full first aider duties as necessary, including monthly checks of first aid kits Complete all necessary administration and documentation Conduct and complete duties to a high standard and always maintain a professional approach to customers Observe and comply with correct Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policy and all Network Rail standards always Benefits Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £23,795.00-£29,120.00 per year Childcare Company events Company pension Free parking Sick payPlease click apply in the first instance if you are interested
