We are looking for a user experience researcher who is passionate about applying their research skills to shape user experiences across scholarly publishing. Working alongside researchers, strategists, designers, product and technology teams, you will combine a rigorous understanding of research methods with a collaborative approach to ensure that product strategy and design are based on a solid foundation of research.
How you will make an impact:
* Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research studies, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, analytics, and unmoderated studies to gather findings and insights.
* Partner with strategists, designers, product and engineering teams to understand business goals and user needs. Work closely with these cross-functional teams to formulate research plans and translate research findings into actionable recommendations.
* Synthesize research findings, insights, and recommendations that will guide product and design decisions. Share research reports and presentations with stakeholders and the wider organization.
* Contribute to the direction of strategic initiatives based on insights learned from research.
* Continuously monitor user feedback and update appropriate artifacts (e.g., journey maps, personas).
* Champion the voice of the user throughout the company through cross-functional team collaboration, shared learning, and presentations.
What we look for:
* Proven experience conducting user research and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
* Experience with UX research methods and a strong desire for continued learning & improvement of research skills.
* Detail-oriented and able to condense large amounts of information into clear and organized reports.
* Organized and capable of balancing multiple projects at one time.
* Highly collaborative and comfortable bringing different teams together.
* Excellent command of written and spoken English.
* Experience with scholarly research or in the publishing industry.
