About this opportunity
Three exciting new opportunities have arisen within the Housing Standards team for Empty Homes Caseworkers to join a close-knit team which strives for excellence, innovation in service delivery and works well with partners. The post is full time working 37 hours per week and is offered as a permanent contract.
Appointees will work in a vibrant team environment where you will assist in the implementation of the council’s Empty Homes Strategy action plan for bringing empty homes back into use.
The go-getting candidates will be involved in a variety of casework duties in support of the housing enforcement team where primarily you will carry out background research, undertake external property inspections and prepare cases for housing enforcement action. You will utilise your exceptional communication skills to good effect by assisting owners in bringing their empty properties back into use.
Who we are looking for…
It would be advantageous if you have experience of working in a fast-paced technical support environment and can demonstrate that you’re a team player but also be able to organise your own workload and be committed to providing a high standard of customer service.
You must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be competent in IT; however, it’s just as important to us to find the right fit for our team, and if the right candidate displays the qualities we are looking for then training can be provided.
You will be part of a flexible but highly motivated Housing Standards team where we work together to get the job done. The ability to converse at ease with customers to provide advice and instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
