Job Description:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and dynamic Spanish/French Secondary School Teacher to join a reputable school in the Wirral from January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a fully qualified Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher to engage and inspire students across KS3 and KS4, and possibly KS5, depending on the school's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality lessons in both Spanish and French across the secondary school curriculum, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive, and tailored to a range of abilities.
* Prepare and plan schemes of work, ensuring compliance with national standards and promoting high levels of attainment.
* Assess, monitor, and report on students' progress in line with school and departmental guidelines, providing constructive feedback to both students and parents.
* Foster a positive learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to develop their language skills.
* Collaborate with other staff members within the MFL department and across the school to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded approach to teaching.
* Contribute to extra-curricular activities and language-focused clubs, encouraging a wider interest in Spanish and French culture and language.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum, exam board specifications, and best practices in language teaching.
Essential Requirements:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialist in Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish and French).
* Proven experience teaching Spanish and French at Key Stages 3 and 4 (and ideally KS5).
* Strong knowledge of the UK secondary school curriculum and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to suit individual student needs.
* Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a supportive, engaging learning environment.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students with a passion for language learning.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience teaching A-Level Spanish and/or French is advantageous.
* A passion for the cultural aspects of Spanish and French-speaking countries, bringing a global perspective to the classroom.
* Willingness to contribute to school trips or language exchanges to enhance the learning experience.
