1st/2nd line IT Support Engineer required by my client, a leading British Manufacturing company.
Providing 1st/2nd line support for Service Desk incidents and requests.
Engage with the EMEA IT Support team.
Ensure all support tickets are logged and actioned in a timely manner.
Highlight any urgent issues or requests immediately to a senior member of the team.
Complete desktop/laptop builds/configurations.
Manage the telephone system to ensure the configuration is maintained.
Collaborate with the EMEA InfoSec team to ensure all vulnerabilities are patched in a timely manner.
Keep the IT equipment cage tidy and manage the hardware asset database in ServiceNow, reporting to IT procurement when supplies are becoming low.
Organise the safe destruction and recycling of old IT equipment and abide by WEEE waste standards.
Essential skills required include:
1. Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and M365.
2. Degree in Computer Networks (or similar).
3. 2 years' experience working in a support environment.
4. Appreciation of Virtualisation.
5. An awareness and interest in networking, routing, firewalls, and client/server applications.
6. Peripheral installation and support - Phone, Headset, Printers, etc.
7. Customer service skills - ability to be flexible and use different approaches in different situations.
8. Strong communication skills - ability to convey information to other employees clearly and simply.
9. Strong attention to detail.
