There’s lots to do We are now looking for a new Principal Health and Safety and CDM Consultant to join our growing Engineering and Construction team. About our Principal H&S and CDM Consultant role: This is a pivotal role taking the lead on delivery of Health and Safety and CDM for our clients’ renewable energy projects. It would suit a great problem solver who is decisive but diplomatic and enjoys working with clients and contractors. You would be taking the lead on H&S and CDM activities from pre-construction through construction and into operation. You would also be acting as the Principal Designer under the CDM 2015 regulations making sure that design work and construction planning meets H&S standards. You will also be supporting project teams on H&S and making sure our working practices are compliant and best practice and t here is the opportunity for someone to grow a team here too. Some of the things you may find yourself doing: Leading on H&S and CDM activities Undertaking CDM documentation reviews from the client’s contractors (including CCP). Reviewing RAMS and working with contractors to ensure high standards. Inspecting sites to ensure compliance and that they are managed as per the CPP and RAMS. Leading on accident and incident investigations. Acting as Principal Designer Producing the CDM strategy brief for clients, setting out the foundation for H&S management across the project. Planning and coordinating the pre-construction phase and ensure all design, technical and organisational decisions align with the general principles of prevention. Creating the PCI for the project. Leading Design Risk Management (DRM) workshops. Continuing ongoing coordination and communication during the construction phase of projects. Creating the H&S file. Working with clients and helping with business development, sales and marketing Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners. Understanding client needs and aligning services to meet those needs. Helping with proposals that meet our clients’ objectives. Representing the consultancy at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote services and establish thought leadership. Skills and experience required: Chartered member of IOSH (or equivalent) NEBOSH Construction or General certificate Demonstrable experience in Health & Safety and CDM consultancy, ideally within the renewables industry (wind, solar, BESS) (ideally 5 years). Excellent communication, organisation and project management skills. The following are desirable: Relevant engineering or technical qualifications would be advantageous. Renewable Energy qualifications are desirable but not essential. Experience in a leadership role is highly preferred. What is it like to work at Locogen?
