JOB OVERVIEW An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Merrow Schools Federation. The federation incorporates Merrow Junior & Merrow CofE Infant Schools, located 5 minutes apart on the outskirts of Guildford. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual who has the ability to work reactively when priorities change. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Working with a wide range of class teachers to deliver excellent teaching and learning. Ability to take responsibility for delivering lessons to whole classes, providing cover for the Class Teacher. Coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis (including children with additional needs).Supporting assessment and evidencing learning.Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources.Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners.Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability.Undertaking lunchtime supervision.Being an effective model for pupil behaviour.Recognising confidentiality, safeguarding and child protection procedures, Health & Safety, and the policies of the Governing Body and the LA. THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (or a Senior LSA ready to take HLTA training)A proven ability to work on their own initiative A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults The ability to use/learn relevant technology/equipment A positive ‘growth mindset’ attitude A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school Albeit class-based roles we particular welcome applications from those with experience of working with children with Social & Emotional needs or ASD Patient, calm and always sensitive to the needs of the child Able to support learning development in numeracy, literacy and other curriculum areas Able to promote listening and attention skills Able to support the development of social skills and emotional literacy Well organised and able to demonstrate initiative when enhancing the learning environment Have high expectations of children and themselves.
VACANCY DETAILSContract: PERMANENT PART-TIME = either Wed-Fri (20.25h p/wk) or Thu-Fri (13.5h p/wk)
NB: We have flexibility to offer 2 or 3 day p/week contract, however the days specified are non-negotiable (to best support the staffing needs of the school)
32.50 hours per week and Term Time only (38.6 weeks per year).
Hours: 08.15-15.30 (6.75h per day incl lunchtime supervision)
Salary: Surrey Pay PS6 - FTE £29,152-£31,400 (Pro Rata: £9,308-£14215 for 2d p/wk or £13,962-£15,311 for 3d p/wl)
