As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the commercial aspects of projects within the water sector. Your responsibilities will include managing contracts, optimizing project profitability, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is a dynamic position that requires strategic thinking, leadership, and a deep understanding of civil engineering and water industry operations.
Lead and manage commercial activities across multiple projects.
* Negotiate and administer contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Monitor project budgets, forecast costs, and ensure profitability.
* Provide strategic advice on risk management and mitigation.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Severn Trent and Thames Water representatives.
* Prepare and present commercial reports to senior management.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
* Mentor and support the commercial team to drive performance and growth.
Proven experience in a Commercial Manager role, ideally within civil engineering or the water industry.
* Strong knowledge of NEC and other relevant contract frameworks.
* Strategic mindset with a focus on maximizing value and minimizing risk.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
* Proficiency in commercial software and financial reporting tools.
