Job Title: Permit Coordinator - Street works Location: East London Contract Details: Temporary, Full Time, HYBRID, likely one day per week in the office Salary: £21.33 - £27.34 per hour About Our Client: Our client is a prominent London Borough Council, responsible for managing and maintaining the highways and footways network. Benefits & Perks: Competitive hourly rate Convenient office location with nearby parking available Easy access from Barking train station Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate permits and licences applications to comply with statutory duties and regulations Establish standards and requirements for external parties to minimise network disruption and manage risks effectively Build relationships with stakeholders, such as utilities companies and Transport for London, to coordinate infrastructure works Maximise income from licences, permits, inspections, and breaches of conditions through prompt processing, inspections, and billing Coordinate inspections to ensure compliance of all street assets Run compliance processes to support operational decisions Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide appropriate support Follow compliance procedures and address any issues requiring follow-up or investigation Prepare management reports on compliance operations and progress Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience): Hold a recognised professional qualification in Streetworks or related field Sound working knowledge of the regulatory and policy framework for highways and footways GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualifications Experience in managing or working in a highways regulatory environment Demonstrated ability to work in a high-performance team Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience): Continued professional development in Streetworks or relevant areas Technologies: Proficient in relevant software and tools for permit coordination and compliance reporting How to apply: If you have the necessary qualifications and experience along with a passion for ensuring the safety and resilience of the highways and footways network, please apply below.
