Personal care assistant required for young male
Our client is looking for a personal assistant for their son to support him with accessing the community, as well as some personal care.
The successful candidate should be patient, understanding and supportive. Our client’s son enjoys trips out to the park, feeding the ducks, playing in water, playing with bubbles, bouncy balls and marbles as well as watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He is non-verbal and can sometimes display challenging behaviour, so it is important that the successful candidate is confident assisting him with managing emotions. Our client’s son sometimes uses a wheelchair in the community, but this is dependent upon the activity and location.
The role is 26 hours per week – 6.30am to 8.30am, and 7pm-9pm Monday to Friday, and 6 hours on Saturday. Our client is happy to negotiate the weekday evening hours. The role involves assisting our client’s son with getting ready for school, and getting ready for bed, on weekdays. The Saturday hours are for accessing the community and social activities. The role is based in Epworth.
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced DBS will need to be completed, which we will fund.
