Finance Officer The Finance team at Malvern College has a wide-ranging remit, working closely with a range of stakeholders within the College. The key responsibilities of the role are: Working closely with Financial Controller to prepare annual financial statements and complete financial reconciliations such as bank and balance sheet. Responsible for filing of VAT returns and working closely with the rest of the team to ensure accurate VAT reporting including partial exemption calculations. Responsible for day to day banking for all entities and overall responsibility for overseeing the Colleges investments. What you'll be doing: The Finance Officer will work closely with the Financial Controller to maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and play a key role in the financial operations of the College. You'll have: A professional qualification in accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent), including part qualified. Proven experience in a Finance Officer or similar role, preferably within the charity or not-for-profit sector. Knowledge of charity accounting standards, financial regulations, and taxation (particularly VAT) requirements. Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
