About the Role Equitas are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing Secondary Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting, supporting students with a range of additional needs. You’ll be working closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support to a small class of 4–5 students, ensuring every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to learn. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with a range of SEN, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. Work collaboratively with teaching staff to plan and deliver personalised learning activities. Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in and outside the classroom. Assist with personal care routines when required, always maintaining dignity and respect. Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Contribute to tracking progress and reporting on student development. Requirements A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs. Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential – experience and the right attitude matter most). Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one). Why Join Us?
