Key Responsibilities may include: Manage a caseload of files, dealing effectively with cases and transactions. Build credibility with clients and develops own client relationships through managing client expectations regarding options, outcomes, risk and timescales. Scope fees for existing clients Grow internal and external networks of clients, intermediaries and contacts. Build on personal and department profile and reputation by attending networking events, writing publications/ marketing materials and speaking at seminars. Take responsibility for managing aspects of projects that are delegated and meet deadlines. Support juniors in the team by giving technical, business and general advice. Ensure a good flow of communication to senior lawyers but also more junior members of the team Track progress against your own KPIs, meeting targets Support with budgetary management of client matters Apply all business processes and use resources effectively & efficiently. Understand the changes in the practice area/legal sector and the implications for the firm. Skills, Experience, and Attributes Previous experience of managing a residential property caseload Qualifed fee earner 2 PQE Ability to manage own files and delegate work to others Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service You will be working within an established and profitable team dealing with new instructions on receipt and working on those instructions through pre and post completion. We are looking for an individual who is highly organised and able to work to deadlines. A sense of humour is essential and a willingness to contribute to the wider team imperative. What will you be doing? Handling files both freehold and leasehold from initial instruction through to completion having ensured that all enquiries have been dealt with, title issues have been accurately resolved, all searches carried out and checked and mortgage conditions satisfied; Title checking; Acting as sounding board for more junior solicitors and conveyancing assistants and handling more complex transactions; Preparation of contracts and supporting documents; Checking official copy documents; Liaising with clients, clients’ agents, borrowers, asset managers, buyers’ solicitors, internal departments and any other as necessary; Dealing with post completion issues and ensuring post-completion is concluded accurately; Using case management systems on a day-to-day basis; and Handle client billing and ensure all billing is accurate and timely. Duties will include: - Registering applications on the Land Registry for completed purchases and remortgages; - Registering applications on Companies House; - Deal with all enquiries from Companies House and Land Registry; - Updating reports on Excel spreadsheets on all commercial and bridging loan cases - Chasing solicitors by email, telephone and letters - Issuing security documentation - Working on files when they are due to complete, e.g doing report on titles, reporting to funders - Handling completion monies - Using Case Management systems for different matters - Preparing invoices and lodging all fee's and bills to the accounts department.
