Rate: £600/per day umbrella.
Background :
This position is part of the Risk & Control team within the front office and focuses on managing preventive size and price booking controls, as well as ensuring compliance with the Manual Entry Standard within the Oversight workstream. This is a dynamic opportunity for a pragmatic, experienced professional with deep knowledge of traded products and a solid understanding of front office trading controls. The team operates across all global markets, collaborating with various risk and technology functions, offering the candidate exposure to multiple stakeholders and opportunities for career growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversight workstream in risk and control - focussing on governance oversight for trade preventative booking controls.
* Manual activity controls.
* Stakeholder management updating where they are against compliance standard used.
* Oversee size and price preventive booking controls and report adherence to the Manual Entry Standard.
* Track, monitor, and manage business methodology related to size and price control thresholds, including completion of annual reviews and managing control threshold changes.
* Assist the business with testing preventive size and price control logic, ensuring documentation is updated and control scenarios are adequately tested.
* Investigate trade booking errors, perform root cause analysis, and work with technology and business stakeholders to implement preventive booking controls for size and price.
* Focus on continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance existing booking controls, gathering business requirements, and collaborating with control review and delivery teams to implement changes.
* Partner with Audit and other Control groups to drive control enhancement initiatives and investigate control failures.
* Ensure that booking control standards, documentation, and procedures are regularly updated and that new products or changes within the business are aligned with control requirements.
Qualifications:
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the markets industry.
* Relevant experience in Front Office control, First Line of Defense functions, or other control-related roles.
* Proven change management experience, including oversight of governance frameworks, adherence to standards, and implementation.
* Strong knowledge of global market traded products, booking models, risk management principles, and associated controls.
* Experience managing control-related change, collaborating with technology teams, writing detailed business requirements, defining test criteria, and reviewing testing outcomes.
* Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to handle and respond to challenging stakeholders in a Front Office environment.
