Relief Bank Engagement Worker - Redbridge
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are urgently recruiting for flexible Bank/Relief Support Staff to help us continue to deliver high quality services to vulnerable people in the community. We have a variety of shifts available from mornings, days, nights and weekends in our OPD HASS Redbridge service.
Rota: This is a 24 hours service so we have both day and waking night shifts.

ABOUT THE SERVICE
Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Housing and Accommodation Services (HASS) have been designed to support the OPD Pathway. OPD HASS provides high residential specialist housing and accommodation support to offenders meeting specific criteria thereby facilitating their eventual move on to fully independent living in the community. These services are male only.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for enthusiastic team players, who are passionate about people and enhancing the health and well-being of our service users. Ideally, you will have experience working with Residents and Participant Groups promoting diversity, dignity and equality and always ready to join in or undertake a number of tasks that will help the team create an engaging environment for our service users. Additionally, you will have a caring nature coupled with a positive attitude and be prepared to work across our organisation in various locations.
Our Bank Recovery Support Workers provide practical support to service users and are responsible for supporting service users to achieve their goals set in their recovery plan. They work intensively with service users when they are able to work towards recovery and coordinate pathways to more appropriate accommodation.
KEY CRITERIA
What we would like, but not essential:
* QCF/NVQ qualification or equivalent or willingness to work towards this
* Willingness to learn about the principles of Key working, support planning, and risk assessment
* Basic understanding of mental health issues and Care Program Approach.
* Willingness to learn about recovery-focused service provision / person-centred approach for people with mental issues.
* Understanding of the connection between substance misuse and mental health
* Understanding of the importance of supporting Service Users with their Medication and moving towards self-medication.
* Willingness to learn about regulatory frameworks for social care.
* Basic report writing skills
* Good literacy and ICT skills
