Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician to work within the Adult Community Eating Disorder Service. The role will be a dual role consisting of 0.5 post as the FREED Champion and 0.5 band 6/7 post (dependant on qualifications) as a Keyworker (previously known as Care Co-ordinator) or an Eating Disorder Therapist for adults with an eating disorder. FREED (First Episode Rapid Early Intervention Service for Eating Disorders) created by South London and Maudsley Trust in 2016 is now available across the country. Aim of the service is rapid engagement, assessment and progression to treatment for those identified with an eating disorder history less than 3 years aged 17.5 to 25. FREED aims to deliver evidence based, individualised treatments and prioritises engagement with families. The keyworker would be responsible for co-ordinating the clinical care of their own caseload. An eating disorder therapist would be responsible for providing evidence based-treatments. Main duties of the job The FREED champion is responsible for adhering to strict time limits for initial contact, triage, full assessment and in consultation with the full Eating Disorder Team commencing appropriate treatment for all referrals received. This requires excellent assessment and communication skills. The FREED champion is also responsible for the promotion of the service and liaising with other professionals throughout the region to ensure people are aware of the service and how to access. This ensures support can be provided to young people without delay. The keyworker is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care to provide interventions to meet individual needs. There is opportunity to train as a therapist if interested. The Eating Disorder Therapist is responsible for providing evidence based therapy such as CBT, CBT-E, CBT-T, MANTRA, SSCM to people experiencing an eating disorder.
