We have an opportunity for an Endoscopy Lead Practitioner to join our team of staff in the Endoscopy department.
This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Endoscopy Lead Practitioner Applicants should meet the following criteria:
1. Experience of leading a clinical team.
2. Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
3. Basic and advanced Competence / qualification in Endoscopy Care and Decontamination.
4. Operators Course in Endoscopy Decontamination.
5. Teaching / Assessing / mentorship qualifications.
6. Knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies (Care Quality Commission, GRS, JAG, HTM 01-06).
7. ILS.
8. Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
9. Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
Endoscopy Lead Practitioner Duties of this role include:
10. Provide quality planned care across the endoscopy patient pathway, supporting and assisting the Endoscopy Practitioner Lead in the management and organisation of care provision within the endoscopy unit.
11. Provide quality planned care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures within own scope of practice.
12. Participate in the improvement in Essential Quality Requirements and Best Practice standards for flexible endoscopy services including decontamination and clinical care.
13. Develop and enhance own skills and knowledge.
14. Apply legislation, policies, and procedures correctly.
15. Respect the patient's dignity, privacy, wishes, and beliefs.
16. Participate in departmental communication, policy development, continuous quality improvement, and meetings.
