SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Harrow Salary: £110 - £115 per day Start Date: ASAP Job Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract (April-July) Hours: 8:30am-3.30pm We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 group at a friendly and supportive Ofsted Good rated primary school based in Harrow (HA2). The successful candidate will be working within the school’s Alternative Provision for children with autism and complex needs, providing tailored support to help pupils engage and thrive in a nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide support to a Year 4 group of pupils with autism and complex needs within the school’s Alternative Provision Assist in delivering differentiated lessons and activities tailored to individual learning and developmental needs Support pupils’ social and emotional development, promoting inclusion and engagement in classroom routines Monitor and record progress, and provide regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO Promote positive behaviour strategies, encouraging the development of social skills and emotional regulation Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally in a primary or specialist setting A good understanding of inclusive strategies for pupils with autism and complex needs Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team Desirable: Experience working with children in Key Stage 2 (particularly Year 4) Knowledge of specific interventions or therapeutic approaches for children with additional needs A genuine passion for working in special education and supporting neurodiverse learners If you’re a caring, patient, and committed individual who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs, we’d be delighted to hear from you
