Established and stable business that has grown organically and through a number of acquisitions in recent years. Now, with fresh investment, the next phase of growth is planned, which will see the team grow, new systems brought in, and new acquisitions.
In this newly created role of Financial Controller, you will shape the future of the central finance function. With responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the central finance team, leading on accounting and controls, management reporting, and system/process improvements. In the role, you will be leading the team through change. Yes, there are process improvements to be made, along with implementing better controls.
You will own the financial reporting processes, providing timely and accurate management information with insightful performance commentary for use in Board reporting and partnering with key budget holders. Furthermore, be responsible for producing required reporting for external investors and finance providers.
The role will be the key point of contact for the annual Audit and also be required to support the FD and CFO on any M&A activity. Either through direct (x3) or indirect (x15) line management, you will also oversee AP, AR, cash, management accounts, and payroll.
There are many legacy processes, systems, and ways of working. There are real opportunities to streamline, automate, and develop new practices. The business is in a period of transition and growth. In this role, there is a true opportunity for you to put your own stamp on things.
Reporting to a great FD who is a fantastic leader and someone to learn a lot from. This role will grow in scope over the coming years, and you will be ideally positioned for future promotions.
We’re looking for someone with a technical background from audit (ACA/ACCA) or financial accounting, ideally managing a decent sized team.
Salary is £80,000 – £90,000 plus benefits. Healthcare, Life cover, enhanced holidays, hybrid and flexible working. In the office c4 days a week just north of the city centre with parking available.
