An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse with knowledge of caring for children and young adults with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) to work with both the Paediatric Gastroenterology service and Adult IBD services at The Royal London Hospital.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and will be expected to work autonomously, with the support of the multi-disciplinary team. They will be part of a wider team of clinical nurse specialists in both Paediatrics and Adults. They should have previous CNS experience of caring for patients with IBD and an interest in working with a specialist team. They will demonstrate a willingness to enhance their skills and knowledge to support the IBD Nursing Service and the vision and enthusiasm to contribute to the specialist nursing service and its patients.
The IBD service at The Royal London Hospital provides high-quality, patient-focused care to children and young adults with IBD. We are one of only 2 centres with a dedicated Young Adult Clinic, meeting the specific and individual needs of this unique patient group.

Responsibilities:
* The Paediatric and Young Adult IBD CNS will deliver a seamless service and provide the highest level of expert nursing care to children and young people with IBD, and their families, in line with agreed standards including the National Service Framework for Children and NICE guidelines.
* The post holder will be the named professional for the transition process from paediatric to adult IBD services. The post holder will care for patients from the paediatric service and into the young adult IBD service (up to 24 years old).
