The role is full time 37 hours per week, Monday to Fridaybetween the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, however flexible workingpatterns can be considered. The role is based in our office onBlackbrook Business Park in Taunton, TA1 2PE.

The teamand role
The Clinical team have a variety ofhealthcare and clinical experience, including paramedics,radiographers and nurses. Together we are able to provide exceptionalsupport to customers who have been diagnosed with complex medicalconditions, such as cancer.
The team provide a single point ofcontact for our customers to discuss their ongoing treatment as wesupport them through their treatment journey. We also liaise withhealthcare professionals and hospitals to ensure we have theinformation needed to support these complex medical claims. Our ChiefMedical Officer and other Medical Advisers (all practising specialistsin the NHS and private sector) are on hand to support the team withcomplex cases, to ensure our customers can access the very besttreatment.
About you
Areyou a healthcare professional with experience working in thehealthcare sector or are have a relevant clinical qualification (e.g.undergraduate or postgraduate in life sciences, nursing, paramedic orphysiotherapy) or significant clinical experience (e.g. pharmaceuticalor theatre technician)

Thesuccessful candidate will have a willingness to act as front-linesupport to our customers via all communication channels, includingemail and telephone with some of the main aspects of the roleincluding;
* Being a part of the customer pathway,proactively reviewing the eligibility for the customer to make use oftheir health policy in line with their policy cover.
* Signposting, where required, to enable access to othereligible services.
* Use clinical skills to make informeddecisions on highly complex treatment eligibility e.g. levels of care,hospital length of stay and treatment options.
* Workproactively with providers to ensure care is appropriate to need andeligible under the customers policy.
* Maintain up to date andaccurate knowledge of current best practice and clinical guidelines.
* Support front line business areas where there are clinicallycomplex cases to provide clinical case management support.
* Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge of appropriate WPAproducts, policies, and initiatives to ensure that all queries areanswered accurately.
* Able to carry out medical research tosupport claim decisions and ensure current and accurate evidence tosupport claims advice.
