Electrical Design Engineer
Southampton / Hybrid (2-3 days on-site every 3 weeks)

Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? Join a leading EPC contractor and play a key role in delivering cutting-edge engineering projects across multiple sectors, including Process & Water, Energy, Defence, Oil & Gas, and Nuclear.
The Role
Reporting to the Electrical Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical design on a variety of projects. Your key duties will include:
1. Carrying out project-specific design deliverables
2. Carrying out detailed design in accordance with the company's procedures
3. Interpreting client requirements from drawings, specifications, and correspondence
4. Communicating with clients, external design resources, and subcontractors
5. Conducting site surveys, feasibility studies, and optioneering
6. Preparing procurement specifications, construction drawings, and electrical scope documents
7. Overseeing third-party designs and assisting installation & commissioning teams
8. Reviewing vendor Functional Design Specifications for compliance
9. Performing design calculations, power system modelling (AMTECH), and risk assessments
10. Producing single-line diagrams, cable schedules/Calculation, load schedules, and equipment specifications
What We're Looking For
1. A relevant electrical qualification (or equivalent experience)
2. Experience in electrical design engineering with at least 1 year experience within Waste Water projects.
3. Chartered Engineer status (desirable, but not essential)
4. Proficiency in AMTECH, CAD, and industry-standard design tools
5. Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and subcontractors
