We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Depot Supervisor to lead and manage operations at our cement depot. This role involves overseeing resource planning, dispatching, and vehicle weighing, while managing the depot's fleet, staff, and drivers.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage fleet and driver resources to ensure cost-effective and efficient daily operations.
* Liaise with customers, drivers, and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely delivery processing.
* Oversee depots within the region, supporting and guiding staff as needed.
* Ensure compliance with the Working Time Directive and transport regulations.
* Ensuring that the depot complies with all current legislation and permit conditions are met.
* Ensuring that the depot is kept clean and tidy and in a good state of repair.
* Ensuring that the depot stocks are kept at an acceptable level.
* Ensuring all vehicles are manned as and when required with appropriately qualified drivers.
* Ensuring that drivers carry out instructions given by Planner or Depot Technician and the centralised transport plan is satisfied.
* Ensuring all relevant documentation is maintained.
* Ensuring that good industrial relations are maintained including disciplinary procedures/actions.
* Coordination of stock records under his/her control are within all current legislation.
* Ensuring that the area under their control complies with current legislation in the operation of transport including the EPA, Health and Safety etc.
* Liaising with other Depot Supervisors and Weighbridge Technician/Planners to ensure Company vehicles are used in a cost-effective manner.
* Ensuring that customer complaints are recorded and investigated.
* Ensuring economical use of the resources available to him/her to meet customer needs.
* Ensuring drivers work to the instructions and procedures as detailed in the driver's folder.
* Ensuring that vehicle and driver accidents and incidents are reported and documented.
* Ensuring that Company vehicles are kept in a clean condition inside and out.
* Supervising all staff under his/her control to ensure that the IMS procedures are adhered to.
* Ensuring that all driver tachographs are analysed and the tachograph procedure is adhered to.
* Covering staff holidays and sickness through the shift patterns.
About You:
* Strong understanding of the Working Time Directive and relevant transport legislation.
* Proven experience in transport or logistics management, with a focus on fleet and resource optimization.
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* Working knowledge of transport legislation.
* Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office as well as ability to undertake training on in-house systems.
* Ability to prioritise and make decisions, as well as problem solve.
* Ability to lead a team.
* Flexible and committed approach with the ability to work rotating shifts.
* Excellent communication skills and experience of investigation and disciplinary procedures.
Education/Qualification:
* Understanding of Working Time Directive.
