Knowledge of the specimen pathways for all samples, including reference laboratory tests Desirable Will undertake post graduate qualification i.e. (M.Sc.) IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE Essential Substantial experience as a BMS in clinical microbiology with rotations in serology Supervision and training of Biomedical Support Workers, trainee BMS (Band 5) and Associate practitioner grade staff Good communication and interpersonal skills Experience of working as part of a team Flexible attitude to working hours Active participation in Service Development. Participation in providing out of hours service and working extended days. Demonstrate a commitment to and participation in continued professional development. Create own personal development plan. Experience of training other staff members. Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in laboratory practice in medical Microbiology Ability to run, maintain and fault find on laboratory analysers Good IT skills.
