Head of Service / Registered Manager - Specialist Mental Health Service
Location: Wisbech, Children's Residential Home
We are seeking a dedicated Head of Service who will also take on the role of Registered Manager for a new 8-bed children's residential home. The service will cater for children aged 12-18 with complex mental health needs and behaviours. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, working alongside clinical professionals to provide high-quality care and support for young people with mental illness and self-harming behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the care, education, social, emotional, and health needs of each young person, ensuring comprehensive care plans are in place.
* Establish and maintain high-quality care standards, ensuring regular reviews of care plans and progress.
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring adherence to safeguarding protocols and addressing concerns.
* Ensure staffing levels meet service needs and effectively manage budgets.
* Collaborate with parents, carers, and professionals to safeguard young people's welfare and ensure holistic support.
* Stay updated on changes to legislation and best practices in children's mental health and care.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience in children's mental health services and management within a residential setting.
* Understanding of child protection, safeguarding protocols, and legislation such as the Mental Health Act.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours and support a team working with complex needs.
* Leadership experience with a focus on staff development, multi-disciplinary teamwork, and service improvement.
* A passion for improving the lives of young people and a commitment to equality and diversity.
Essential Criteria:
* Minimum of 2 years' recent experience working with children.
* At least 1 year in a supervisory role within any setting.
* Knowledge of mental health practices, particularly with children.
* Enhanced DBS required.
